The big weekend reset
How I reset for the week ahead, plus FOUR (yes, four!!!) quick recipes to make
I don’t know about you, but it’s been a crraaaaazy week. Demanding, full-on, lots of work, plus the heatwave hasn’t helped. Not that I’m complaining – because it’s a blessing to be busy and working and having some sunshine (finally!). BUT, as with many of us who are feeling burnout from our demanding jobs and taking care of families and squeezing in social plans, I am tired. Not sleepy-tired, but just feeling a bit bleh. And with every Friday that comes around, I do a little reset.
I’ve hit the pause button and have said ‘no’ to a few social plans (more on the liberating art of saying no here), allowing myself the space to truly recharge. For me, that means booking in some proper "me time" – a much-needed massage (there’s a brilliant spot called Masaj in Marylebone, if you’re in London), dedicating time to some Pilates classes, a trip to my local farmers' market and doing some food prep (I’ve popped FOUR recipes of quick and healthy fridge bits that I always pre-make below).
I’m sure everyone has their own way of ‘resetting.’ It could be rotting on the sofa binge-watching all the Harry Potter films. Or curling up with a glass of wine and a book. Spending time with loved ones over good home-cooked food and sharing stories. I think the key is doing something that serves you and brings you joy. For me, I like to carve some space for self-care, do something productive, and enforce some micro-habits that I know make my body feel good… This is what it looks like:
